Pixelmator App Reviews

Great app, no export options

I keep sending files from this app as .jpg and its pretty frustrating when your files are further compressed on the sites you try to put your content on. I made logos using this app that almost look ugly on the services I would use them for. Please provide file-type export options asap. *** Otherwise Id say this is a quality app for what its trying to do. Its not photoshop to those complaining it should be or think it might be. It was never intended to be.

Not intuitive at all

As a painting app...

...this rocks!!!!This is a very powerful app, and fully featured. I use it for painting and drawing rather than image editing, but still use the image editing features for editing my layers. Lots of brushes perfect for textures. Only missing feature is brush editing, but it doesnt need it. Also, I am using it with the Jot Script 2 (Evernote edition) on my iPad Air 2 and I am having a blast, if only the app featured palm rejection....even with all that, this is still a 5 star app.

Not worth the money

It is totally not worth the money. It doesnt necessarily do anything that cant be done by a free app. Disappointed with this app. Had high expectations.

Waste of my money

This app is not worth what they are selling it for. Their vid is kind of misleading

Are you joking about how bad this is.

Perhaps I really am the most disappointed I have ever been. I will splurge on an app and be ok that I still spent less than a coffee drink. One of the most expensive for what it does, and the UI is so unfriendly I am irritated with it that I cant even open it for long periods. I tried to watch tutorials for mobile but all of them are for the computer desktop. The one that was very boring made me more upset because the big features are on tons of other apps that are completely free. Dont waste your money. Ask around or try some of the things in picsart or other apps. I will try a bit each day and if I find one feature that isnt to hard to find and isnt on another app that I get free or is way easier to use, I will change my review, but as of now, I am not happy in fact the most I have spent on any photo editing app...Horrible dont waste your $

great little Mac app - trash for iPad

1 Star

So, I never usually buy any apps but I decided to try this one out. The description describes it to be this amazing app, but the actual app did not live up to any expectations. I can find any free app that does the same thing that this one does. I give it 1 star. (Hopefully I learned my lesson not to splurge on apps)

One of my most worth spending on App Store and Mac Syore

This app worth money. I use it on both Mac and iPhone and love it. Dont want pay single penny to Adobe for overpriced badly coded software. PDF is the only product I respect from Adobe.

Dont listen to the bad reviews

This is a good App to edit photos.

The best mobile image editor I could find!

It is the best mobile image editor I could find and it is super easy to use! I totally recommend it. Astonishing results!

Meh...

I edit a lot of photos everyday. I consider myself to be fairly talented at photography. I expected a lot more out of this app. Its cool if you want to play around with but if you are looking for something to make professional looking pictures then snap seed is what I use and that is really all I need

Feature Request

It would be very helpful to have a way to create folders and sub folders within the app.

Almost there…

I think the app is gorgeous with lots of tool to edit and create high-End photography and objects but a simple before-after bugs me… so Im giving 4 stars for now…

Best photo editing app on the App Store

Incredibly intuitive U.I., not to mentions its an incredibly responsive and powerful tool. I no longer need the Adobe CC suite! This is an absolute must have App. Get its Mac companion too, and support this small team of developers!

Could be INCREDIBLE

As an editor, this app is incredibly powerful and nothing for iOS rivals it. With that said, there are 2 enormous problems that make it dreadful to use. First is the UI. I dont think I have to say much for you to immediately notice its lack of intuitive navigation. Im working with a 13 inch iPad Pro. Why are my menu bars not in plain sight and instead tucked away in hundreds of drop downs and pages. I have to tap like 80 things just to paint a black line on an image...and then 80 more to erase it. Second is that Pixelmator straight up has no idea what to do with the Apple Pencil. Too hard to explain. Just try and and see for yourself how awful it is. Beyond that theres a couple little things like the inability to invert a selection. If those things were tweaked wed be looking at the closest thing to full fledged photoshop on iPad. The Mac version is GOLD...why isnt this?

I keep changing my review, sorry.

This app is great overall. I just have a few issues with, that frustrate me as artist. I list those things below. Here are a few features that really make me not want to use this app as much as my other go to drawing apps: No redo button (but theres a undo button), no Apple Pencil support and the layers seem to not work as Im used from other developers (think Procreate)

User experience needs work

While I like what this app has to offer, I think the overall user experience needs improving. First thing is the resizing/crop function need to have its own button, the fact that its an open function and can be accessed at anytime another function is not being used presents an opportunity to move the image without a even knowing the image moved (especially when working closeup). I have done this multiple times then went and used another tool and it automatically crops. So annoying, please fix. In addition to this the undo cache is too small, why not just keep it all or at least give the option to set it.

File Names on iPhone 6S+

Choosing the file name is sometimes almost impossible due to the small size of an iPhone 6S+. Find a solution so that we could use your great app as conveniently as the times were working with it on our iPads. Thanks in advance. Regards

How a productivity app should be

I love that this app imitates the iWork/iLife offerings by Apple. Simple, easy file interface, and works superbly with iCloud Drive.
