Essential

The closest to have a photoshop in your own pocket

Definitely NOT for SERIOUS editing

Pixelmator is a very nice and well designed photo editor for iOS. Those who work with the Keynote app, for their instance, on their iPads will get immediately used to the interface. HOWEVER, there is one GROUNDBREAKING DRAWBACK for those who seek a serious photo editor and that is absolutely poor JPEG export quality. it allows you to edit images up to 100 megapixels, but when you want to save them in JPEG format, your large and detailed photos will be reduced to an approximately 3-4 mb file... Dear Pixelmator team, fix this, add RAW support and I will be happily willing to pay 30 euros. At this point it seems useless for serious photographers.

Apple Pencil support adds a lot of value

The new version with the support of Apple Pencil is gorgeous. Now it is possible to work even more precise. Best mobile tool for editing pictures.

Better than I first thought

Pixelmator is a cool app. At first I didnt like it much but after giving it a proper test, I change to liking it. The thing that it needs is better selecting and masking tools. The base is excellent. IF THE devs are into it then the future of this app is very bright. Provide good masking and Pixelmator will become a solid 5 star app. I have to mention the amazingly compete number of blend modes whic is a huge bonus.

Compatibility with Pixelmator for MAC???

Hoping the developers see this review and make it so. Cannot use the app because it won’t file share with iTunes my PXM or TIFF files that I have in Pixelmator for MAC. Right now, this app is useless to me. Come on, guys - compatibility with your program for MAC - seems like a no-brainer.

Ridiculous

This is not a bad app, but I think this is ridiculous to download a template whenever you need it. This is time-consuming.

All the tools of other apps and more

I bought this app when it was ten dollars, and it is one of the few expensive apps that was totally worth it. It is a really great app for editing photos with its colour/light adjusting tools, and there is also some hue adjustments that I am fond of using to change all the tress purple or something like that. Using the select and repair tools, you can also create some pretty nice "photoshopped" pictures once you get used to it. Even the paint tools are more realistic than any other designated artist app that Ive used. It basically just replaces all the other photo editing apps that you might want, I actually dont think Ive used any other ones since. Since this app is now half the price that I bought it for, I think it will be quite worth it for anyone with any creativity and some nice pictures to mess around with.

Almost perfect

This app can replace many others that have fewer features. It is easy to use and stable on my iPad Mini. Its like a mini-photoshop on your device. Unfortunately there is a limitation on the number of layers (2-3) if your photo is more than 4MP.

Powerful but not as intuitive as other photo editors

Many people have commented on how intuitive Pixelmator is on iPad but despite its power I think its awkward to use and the control system is not as organized as other editors like Photogene. For example working on a photo I noticed images from the Photo library are brought into the app rotated by 90°. Not sure why that is and with more use I may figure out how to modify that behaviour but at present without modifying any defaults it means I must rotate the image before saving back to the library as the orientation is wrong. Also Pixelmator differentiates between the image and the canvas. Many times Im interested in just resizing my image and when I do it Ive often just resized the image only, which now has white space surrounding it because I havent modified the canvas size. If that happens and you dont resize the canvas, the image is saved with a white border. I find that generally there is not enough info on the screen - many times its just your image and some icons as they are trying to minimize clutter but often Im wondering what is the view %, which layer am I working on, what options are available to me, etc. Concepts like those above are differences that require some training. Its not really intuitive.

Just stunning, intuitive, and affordable.

Words cant describe how powerful this app is for photo tuning, photo editing and some graphic design, i have this on my iMac as well, would be awesome there was maybe a (light) edition for the iPhone, would totally buy it. I love how it syncs through iCloud too, just amazing. Keep up the good work!!

Amazing

Pixelmator was amazing. Then they made it available on iPhone. Now I wish there was a sixth star.

Pro features at a hobby price

Looking to do anything to an image? This is it. Simple but packed with features Pixelmator delivers at many times the price. Stop reading all the five star reviews, buy it, and spend the time exploring what you can do.

Best of the best.

This app is the king of photo editing apps. No other application can compare to it. This app is definitely a must have.

Simply Amazing!

That the app that I know and love on my Mac is now available on my iPad and iPhone is simply amazing. A definite bargain. Keep up the great work!

Amazing

So happy that now I can use Pixelmator on iPhone and Mac, only problem is, why 1GB free? I have a 16GB 5s and I had to delete multiple other apps just to install Pixelmator, would be nice to lower the restriction to 500MB or lower

Best iOS App

Absolutely superb!! My hat is off to the effort put in by this team of geeks!

THE BEST OUT THERE FOR iOS!

Pixelmator has the most complete collection of Blending Styles for the iPhone and iPad, notably the "Color" Blending Style for use in Layers to reduce color noise in your photos. It does this effectively without accentuating any Luminance noise. All adjustments are pro quality and work smoothly in a very beautiful interface. If youre familiar with Photoshop, you will find the interface different, but it will become intuitive fairly quickly, and works similarly in both iOS versions. In short, the closest thing to desktop image manipulation for mobiles. Ironically, I find that Pixelmator is the true "Photoshop" for iOS being more complete and elegant than anything Adobe has at the moment for iOS. And I havent even begun to mention its many detailed tools for artists...!

Pixelmator

Its the best app no 1

Outstanding

I feel like I can finally do what I’ve wanted to be able to on my phone.

Good app good ethics

Amazing app for photo manipulation at a fraction of the price. Also made the app universal so we dont have to pay extra.
